Google Fresh for eCommerce – eCommerce SEO

Google have released their “Fresh” update, and have specifically mentioned eCommerce results in their blog post.

Searches for information that change often, but isn’t really a hot topic or a recurring event. For example, if you’re researching the “best slr cameras”, or you’re in the market for a new car and want “subaru impreza reviews”, you probably want the most up to date information.

This means they are specifically are targeting up to date eCommerce results in their update. So what can you do to make sure you are producing information on your site that is going to count as “fresh”

  1. Blogs, News, Information Feeds – This is basic information most modern websites should have. Try to create as much unique and up to date content as you can.
  2. Reviews – All your reviews should be pushed out via RSS feed, which allows you to syndicate them out to other sites too.
  3. Always have the latest product information, and keep pages up to date. Blog about new product updates.
  4. Update deals and specials as frequently as you can. If you can have a section dedicated to daily deals, that is great.
